my comments:

-the texture that is used does not make the icon look good, it makes everything too busy and it also makes the coloring look kind of bad and washed out.
-the texture really takes away from the gorgeus crop.
-The colours are soft and really help connect the picture and text. I like the cropping and the texture here.
-The texture is overpowering. And I think a different font would've worked better.
-I'm not a big fan of the grainy affect on icons. The cropping's fairly good, but the dull color plus the grainy effect takes away from the overal appeal of the icon, IMHO.
-the texture is too strong on her face. maybe try to smoothen the face area next time.

I guess it's all a matter of taste. I thought the texture was a nice touch and the font was nicely understated. Don't worry, there will be more 'As the Lim Turns' coming relatively soon. I'm in horror_lims and jossverse_lims.
